Communications/Marketing/Sales (http://costaricaoutwardbound.org) Communications Staff Who We Are: Founded in 1997, Costa Rica Outward Bound School offers a range of experiential education programs promising challenging physical activities across Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama with a focus on personal development, leadership, and cultural immersion. Clients include mostly high school and college-age young people from diverse international backgrounds. Target audiences also include adults, educators, social/business groups and families. Courses are 8-85 days. The Communications Office is a collaborative team of five responsible for all communications, sales, marketing and customer service tasks organization-wide. Staffers are charged with increasing course participation across all target audiences and ensuring excellent customer service with regard to stakeholder communication -- from prospective students, to families of students currently on course, to alumni and partners. Who We Are Looking For: We are currently looking for new highly-skilled talent in our Communications office. Due to the unique culture of the organization, we are seeking a good "fit" above and beyond specific skills. To clarify, the organization has approximately 10 full time base staff -- half of which work in the Communications Office. The majority are foreign nationals residing in Costa Rica under annual contracts with Costa Rica Outward Bound. This small group lives and works in close quarters and relies on each other for the majority of their social outlets as well. It is imperative that all Communications staff be able to thrive within these unusual working/living conditions. Additionally, the organization employs a number of full and part-time staff from throughout Latin America. Cultural sensitivity is highly valued and essential to the organization. Communications Staff should expect to manage customer service and administrative tasks associated with enrolling students first and foremost (i.e. answering phones, providing informative and persuasive descriptions of our programs, processing payments, collecting medical/flight/contact information, etc.) with additional marketing/communications/outreach responsibilities. These two sectors of responsibilities will ebb and flow depending upon the season.
